Course Description
Designed for personnel working with with or around a power-propelled truck (forklift) used to carry, push, pull, lift, stack, or tier materials. Familiarizes workers with potential health and safety concerns associated with powered industrial trucks. Content is designed to comply with the intent of applicable regulatory requirements. Specify the purpose of the Powered Industrial Truck standard (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178), define operator training requirements, distinguish truck types, recognize general safety engineering principles, identify health and safety concerns with use and maintenance, describe safe loading and unloading methods, and identify inspection and maintenance procedures.
