Abnormal Psychology

Course Description

Introduces students to the essential features and etiology of various psychological disorders. Students are also introduced to contemporary methods of assessment and treatment using the diagnostic system of the DSM-ITV-TR, and to ways of thinking critically about the diagnosis of psychological disorders from both historical and contemporary perspectives, including socio-cultural considerations of mental illness.
