Course Competencies

  1. Identify individual specific needs

  2. Demonstrate effective communication

  3. Examine individual, systemic barriers and strengths, as they relate to individual treatment planning

  4. Explore the interdisciplinary nature of the field of Human Services (i.e Community Networking) and the variety of theories that provide the foundation for the work

  5. Investigate the various roles and responsibilities that make up the diverse field of Human Services

  6. Apply state and federal regulations to ensure client rights

  7. Identify personal biases and develop personal contingency plans

  8. Explore various codes of ethics and how they relate to the variety of human services careers.

  9. Analyze the variety of prevention, crisis intervention, and rehabilitation strategies that are available to the human service professionals.

  10. Demonstrate objective documentation skills
